Save The Date! TWO RiverLands Ribbon Cuttings
12.02.24| 11:00AM
Volunteers will be led by TPL staff to prepare the RiverLands Gateway Park site for guided tours and events while we begin the design of the site. The RiverLands Gateway Park is the southern anchor of a 2.7-mile section of greenway trail being designed and built by Trust for Public Land, Cobb County, and Smyrna.
Volunteers will be removing invasive plants including privet and vines and other under story plants in work area, clearing trails, and removing trash and other debris left behind from mowing. The volunteers will use shovels along with hand pulling, and other small equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, weed wrenches, and pruners as they are comfortable.
We suggest volunteers wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat, sturdy shoes, and sun protection, and bring water. If you have a string trimmer, shovel, hand pruners, and/or gloves please bring them with you. We will provide gloves to those who need them.
Meeting point coordinates: 33.780097, -84.534521
This site does not have an address. It is located at the intersection of Discovery Blvd. and Mableton Pkwy. There is a driveway entrance on Mableton Pkwy just west of the river. Please pull into the site to make room for other vehicles. Look for Chattahoochee RiverLands and TPL signs along the road.
