Join National Park Service Ranger Jerry Hightower for a campfire, program, guided walk and a beautiful summer day coming to an end. Discover new facts about the plants of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area during a program on the historic uses of plants for food, medicine, and pigments. We will make Blueberry Ink and you can write and draw using twig pens, feathers, and brushes. We will also create works of art using mud from the wetlands. Create your own mud painting!
Join us and enjoy the ambiance, and beauty of twilight on the Chattahoochee. You are welcome to come early and bring a picnic dinner. After the program you are invited to join us on a short twilight walk on the Three Forks Loop Trail.
This is a BYOM event. (bring your own marshmallows) We will provide roasting forks.
Facilities: Located in the Center’s Lodge.
Difficulty: Easy level walking
Bring: Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature and activity level. Bring water and snacks if you’d like.
