Event details

Birds Georgia is working with the National Park Service at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy to restore over 15 acres of native habitat, including the seven-acre sparrow field.

This workday will focus on removing small woody invasive plant species, primarily Chinese Privet, and installing native species.

This workday will be split into 2 sessions: 9 AM-12 PM and 1 PM-3 PM

Birds Georgia will supply all of the necessary equipment, including gloves, hand tools, and a water cooler. Feel free to bring your own tools.

What to bring?

  • Reusable water bottle
  • Wear long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes
  • Close-toed shoes – boots recommended
  • Recommended but not required: sunglasses, binoculars (it’s a great spot for birding!)

Please keep in mind that there is a $5 parking fee to support the CRNRA.
